We had a very fun card making night as we celebrate an Attitude of Gratitude. Pres. Monson has said, "Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of Heaven." We are grateful for our sisterhood in this fabulous ward. For all of you willing to serve and participate and for all that you do! We have a very special THANK YOU to our card teachers, Teri Stringham, Cindy Barton, Chris Billingsley, and Debbie Miles! You ladies were very prepared and had fun tools and toys for us to try! Here are a few pictures of everyone have a creative time! We all got to make at least one card at each station if not two...It is sure fun to see how creative everyone gets!
Sister Barton's table...
Sister Billingsley's table...
Sister Miles' table - she brought her cute assitant Kelsi...
And Sister Stringham's table...I think she missed the phrase "simple" cards...she did a LOT of prep work so we could assemble all the pieces into a beautiful thank you card...
It's so fun to visit and create at the same time!
And here is a sample of what we made...if you weren't there, we missed you and you missed out!
We had a caramel apple bar and a donation drive for the women's shelter. THANK YOU to all of you who made such GENEROUS donations! We asked for each sister to bring "an item" and everyone brought BAGS of items! There were over 20 containers of deoderant, over 20 shampoos and conditioners, 12 body washes/lotion, over 35 soaps, 37 toothbrushes, and 35 toothpastes!! There were also wet wipes, hand sanitizers, q-tips, chap sticks, dental floss, feminine hygiene products, razors, and a whole case of Toilet Paper! AND, when I got home there was a giant bag on my doorstep of TONS of hotel-sized shampoos, conditioners, soaps and lotions! Someone travels a LOT. It was very generous of all of you and we just want to say THANKS!!! I'd send you all a homemade thank you card, but I don't know who you all are! The shelter will be very grateful for your kindness and generosity! See you next month at our Christmas Dinner! Dec. 15th, mark your calendar!
